Although SUM/IT will be closed for the Memorial Day holiday, I want to remind you that we have support services available should a problem occur outside of normal business hours. 24/7 After Hours Support is easily accessible through the help desk line, just follow the prompts to be connected to a technician.
The even better news is that we have revised our billing policy for After Hours Support to a simple flat fee of $100. per incident.
So, even if a problem arises, it doesn’t have to break the bank!
Just another way that SUM/IT is here to support you and your business.
Happy Memorial Day!

Most of the time in order to implement a new feature our engineering department spends many many hours to test and develop it. And as each customer uses their SUM/IT system differently, the fact is that there are often many ways to do various procedures. This is why we encourage you to talk with us frequently, review your procedures and don’t be afraid to make suggestions. Your ideas lead to future enhancements!
But sometimes, what you are looking for has been there all along! Such was the case when recently, one of our customers asked if there was a way to “revive” items that had been previously discontinued but were now being reinstated. The answer is a qualified ‘yes’. If the items have been “marked as removed” or “discontinued”, the Set Item Data Fields program can be used to clear the removed and discontinued dates as well as reset the item status flag (usually set to ‘X’ when an item is discontinued). Sounds a lot easier than re-entering all those item numbers!
And don’t forget, if you need assistance with this, call the help desk. That’s what we’re here for!
